Peter Prince – Biography

Music

During the past 25 years, Peter Prince has taken his musician's soul and filmmaker's eye from Central America to the South Pacific, from the Haida Gwaii to the Himalayas and beyond, but his greatest inspiration is rooted close to home. He is a songwriter and a singer/guitarist inspired by the natural beauty and culture of CanadaÕs west-coast.Ê His music and lyrics take us on personal journeys that express lifeÕs emotional depths as they touch the heart with their honesty and spirit.Ê Ê The Folk/World sounds of his first album, Sea of Dreams is the perennial favourite of many visitors to Salt Spring Island, where Peter makes his home and regularly performs.Ê It explores his connection to the spirit of First Nations people and the islands of British Columbia.Ê On Roaring From the Soul of A Lion, he puts his poetry to music that celebrates the bumpy road of life and love, while merging elements of Folk and Rock.Ê Whispering Rain is an acoustic feast for the ears as the tunes flow from his guitar, harmonica and vocals.Ê The album features Tara MacLean's vibrant vocal harmonies and Oool Fjolkunnigr's flair for ethnic instrumental touches.Ê On Light Dance, he creates an all-instrumental recording of earthy and contemplative guitar compositions that blend eastern and western melodies with mandolin, flute, violin, piano and double bass. Pacific Day is Peter's latest album. It features 13 new songs from his well traveled pen. His inimitable voice and guitar are accompanied by a cast of musical friends in an exciting fusion of Folk/Roots/Jazz and World Music.Ê You are invited to watch videos clips on YouTube of Peter and friends performing live.
